Rules

A round is 100 numbered slots counting down from 100 to 1. Slots are sold strictly in descending order. You choose how many you want, not which numbers — the board assigns the next ones down.

Whoever claims slot 1 becomes the Kingpin. The countdown ends and the Kingpin owns the homepage for a reign of 48 hours. When the reign ends, the round freezes into a permanent page in the Record and a new round opens at 100.

Every slot costs $1. Flat. The price never escalates, so claiming everything from a fresh board and becoming Kingpin costs at most $100.

Claiming puts your entry on the homepage for 60 seconds per slot — a dollar buys a minute of homepage — and in the Record permanently.

During a reign anyone can pay to dethrone the sitting Kingpin and take over the rest of their time. The first dethrone of a round costs $200.

The price doubles with every dethrone in the same round. $200, then $400, then $800, and so on. Holding the crown gets harder to take off you the more it has already changed hands, and the price resets when a new round opens.

Dethroning transfers only the remaining reign time. It does not restart the clock. The button tells you the exact time you are buying before you pay.

Dethroning is disabled in the final 2 hours of a reign, so nobody pays $200 for four minutes.

Whoever first claimed slot 1 keeps that record permanently — they won the countdown. The Record shows the full succession.

All sales are final. There are no refunds. You are buying a listing slot, not a chance at a prize. There is no draw, no jackpot, and nothing is awarded by chance.

Reign length may change between rounds. It is never changed for a reign already in progress.

The one payment we return unasked: if your payment lands after your reservation has already expired and the slots have been resold, we refund you automatically and email you. We will never take the money and leave you off the board.

Display names are up to 32 characters. Messages are up to 140 characters and may not contain links or addresses in any form. Websites must be https and are checked at their final destination; link shorteners are rejected.

Every entry has a report button. Entries may be removed for content violations without a refund — the slot stays filled and the payment stays recorded, but the content is replaced with REMOVED.

This applies to frozen rounds too: a past round is permanent, but we will still remove content from it if we are legally required to or if it violates these rules.
